[FlameOfFire] Game intention
The idea of FlameOfFire came to me after listening to episode 25 of the Ludology podcast:
FlameOfFire is named after a Vince Lombardi's quote: “To be successful, a man must exert an effective influence upon his brothers and upon his associates, and the degree in which he accomplishes this depends on the personality of the man. The incandescence of which he is capable. The flame of fire that burns inside of him. The magnetism which draws the heart of other men to him.”
Here is what I wrote on BoardGameGeek's forum:
And listening to the podcast gave me 2 additional ideas:
- a dexterity football game: (2 players) each player selects among Inside Run, Outside Run, Short Pass, Long Pass.
Based on the cross results, a card is revealed that displays a setup of pieces on the field
If it is a pass, the offense must pitch from QB slot to Receiver slot (the setup is more or less hard depending of Offense/Defens choice, interception is possible if a defense player is touched first, ...).
If it is a Run, the defense must pitch to the runner. As long as it is missed, the runner advances as explained on the card.
To make the game quick, it could be closer to Arena football rules as far as downs and yardage are concerned.
Here are the bases. Watch out for more soon!
